Song of The Day – The HERD “Signs Of Life”

Hip-Hop

Coming from The Herd’s 5th album Future Shade, due for release August 26th, is the second single – “Signs Of Life”. The Herd have also just announced a run of dates that takes them all over the country. Kicking it all off in Jindabyne with a snow show on the 6th of August, support will be in the form of Sietta and Beats Working. (More dates can be found at the bottom of this post).
I have to say upon first listen of “Signs Of Life” I was a little let down from expectations, and thought the song hit way below the mark throughout the first minute, lacking creativity and intensity, well noted from the male vocals. The track didn’t pull me in, this affected listening to the rest of the track. Upon the 4th or 5th listen the slow, low intense start becomes more tolerable and you can really enjoy the splendid ending of the track. One thing this track does really well is continually build from start to finish. The break down just after 3 min is powerful and dramatic and it pushes the song over the edge. If you could start the song after the first minute, it would be a greater, bigger and much more desirable song.
Feel free to share to also share your thoughts with others and discuss the song with them below.
