This Just In: Pom Pom – “In The Gaps Between”

Industrial / Electronic / Powerpop

“In The Gaps Between” Is the impressive debut EP from Pom Pom. It contains four brilliant tracks full of fantastic new wave electronica, similar to that of nine inch nails which is quite evident in “Your Little Flower” with its grungy feel. The track ‘Tuesday’ has recently been picked up for high rotation on traxx Radio and Pom Pom has also shared stages with the likes of Grafton primary, Shiv-r, Mz Ann Thropik and Strange Talk.  Who knows what the rest of this year and the next will bring for this talented artist who is on the up and up. Not all the tracks are as full on as the high energy industrial dancers “So Cute” and “Your Little Flower”, with “You Are Door, I Window” taking a more synth pop feel, slowed right down and quite ambient that allows Pom Pom to flaunt her voice.
US based Media outlet Black Noize describes In the Gaps Between as an “unsurpassed testament to the Australian dance scene” and with the pulsing tracks that define Pom Pom’s style it is easy to see why. This is an area in the Australian electronic dance scene that that has lacked direction and Pom Pom is making all her own and taking the lead with her technological brilliance.
So give the EP a listen and a rating, as well as telling us what you think of Pom Pom’s debut effort yourself.

Song of The Day – MOR (Master of Ribongia) “Da Da”

Electronica / Experimental

This song makes me happy and always brings out a smile. Da Da has a “Mario Brothers” like feel, it’s a bit of fun that helps the day go by. Cleverly put together it is melodic and upbeat. everyone can always use a smile so give “Da Da” a listen and think about some the stupid / fun things you have done with your friends!

MOR is an Italian born Sound Engineer and Drummer who also answers to Antonio Rosselli. Having Started creating electronic music in the early 90′s he moved to Sydney in 2003 where he furthered developed his sound from the ambient, slow tempo tracks to the more upbeat, glitchy and stop start tracks you can listen to on soundcloud, he also has MySpace and Facebook.

Hope everyone is enjoying their day and if this track features in your w/e at some stage let us know when, where and what was going on.

First Ever Song of The Day – Blud “Sarah Is For Lovers”

Blud – Sarah Is For Lovers

Power-Pop/rock/electronic

Blud are a Perth Band that have played at Parklife 2010, Norfolk Lanes Youth Festival 2010 (their first 2 gigs ever!!) and Good Vibrations 2011. Not much is known what the rest of 2011 has in stall for them, you can check out their myspace page but that hasn’t been updated since January. Though I’m sure they are making waves over in WA.

This track is pumped up with so much bass it could quite possibly break your legs. The intro draws you into the tune perfectly and then the rest literally blows you away. The ultimate destructive house party anthem. Draws from artists like presets and bloody-beetroots. It’s pure aggression in a song that is also a bucket full of fun!

Other reviews are welcome below, I would love to hear others thoughts on this track
